With international student numbers declining due to COVID-19, Australian universities shifted their focus to recruiting domestic students—intensifying competition in Newcastle’s key regional markets. To defend its position as a vital force in both the region’s future and its students’ success, the University of Newcastle needed a compelling way to reinforce its impact.

The “Be part of something bigger” campaign positioned UON as more than just a university—it was a catalyst for real change. Through Here Here, a content-led platform, students and academics showcased their contributions to critical regional issues. A mix of earned, owned, and paid media directed audiences to an immersive hub, connecting them with impactful stories, partnerships, and educational opportunities.
